Problems with the import phase
Issues may occur during the import phase due to differences in software versions or analysis options, which can affect how data are structured in the NEXUS file.
To resolve common problems, open your NEXUS file and check the following:
- The 'location1' and 'location2' variables should store the latitude and longitude of sample locations, respectively.
- The 'location1_median' and 'location2_median' variables should store the latitude and longitude of ancestral locations.
- The 'location1_xx%HPD' and 'location2_xx%HPD' variables represent uncertainty areas, corresponding to xx% credibility regions.
If editing the file does not resolve your issue, please contact me. This will help me review and improve the EvoLaps parser used during the import phase.
MapBox and OpenStreetMap copyright
EvoLaps uses MapBox and OpenStreetMap for map display.
For scientific publication :
- check on the display of the copyright of MapBox and OpenStreetMap on the map (see DATA tab, preferences section)
- you can also add the figure comment with the following statement: "Prints use map data from Mapbox and OpenStreetMap and their data
sources. To learn more, visit https://www.mapbox.com/about/maps/ and
http://www.openstreetmap.org/copyright"
For a printed map and similar media (that is ebooks, PDFs and so on), the credit must appear beside the map if that is where other such credits appear, or in a footnote/endnote if that is where other credits appear, or in the “acknowledgements” section of the publication (often at the start of a book or magazine) if that is where other credits appear. The URL to openstreetmap.org/copyright must be printed out.
